Stooge, Scrooge or Hero?

John Proctor is neither a hero or a stooge in my opinion. or a scrooge for that matter. Sure he makes mistakes and is a lecher, but people make mistakes. He's also not a hero because of how unheroic he acts and for how long he took to tell the truth about the real supposed witches. The way he speaks out against his society in a his own way makes me like him. So ill give him this, hes a decent and intelligent man but the three titles i am given don't fit one bit.
