Nick and Jay

I never doubted Jay for a second, his ways may have been different when dealing with people but his interests are always real and true. I don't think he intended for Nick to be his friend at first, but to be his connection to Daisy. As Gatsby learns more about Nick and his ways, he realizes that he is different (like himself) than then the rest of the social community. These differences bring them together as friends, more for Gatsby; because of his need for Nick's friendship. This need lies in both lack of friends, his obsession for Daisy, and Nick's way of reserving judgement which everyone cant seem to do for Gatsby instead of Nick. Basically
I see the whole situation as 2 dudes that need a friend that can help them out in a part of their ives that they don't do so well in.
